The Anatomy Of “FEAR”!

September 7, 2016

When we are hungry we are fed and we feel better.

When we are cold we find clothing and we feel well again.

When it is raining we find shelter and we are comforted.

All the above assist us in recognizing our universal default of joyfulness.

However, our misconception starts after we have been satisfied with our minimum needs that more food, more shelter, more clothing, more power, more prestige, more……… will bring us MORE JOY so we start planning and strategizing to collect and to hold in search of more happiness and the good feelings that once we had.

The progression from following to have more is the anticipation of “what if we loose it?” and that is when the fear begins. Fear is our interpretation of the discomfort able feeling of a loss of something that we already have or something that we want to have and may not be able to get. This can be for any tangible physical thing or intangible emotional needs.

Only 1% of our fears are real in respect to a tiger waiting at the door because he happens to be hungry. The other 99% of the times the fear is pending how we process the events of our lives in our mind. This illusion of our mind disappears when we go toward it and gets larger when we run away from it just like a shadow on the wall that is not real.

The best way to avoid the fear is to live at NOW: “the past is history, future is mystery and NOW is where peace is and that is why it is called PRESENT because it is a gift”.

How do we realign ourselves with joy away from this misconception?

Face the fear and break it down to smaller components so you can see its fallacy. Monitor your thoughts and meditate to slow the activity of your brain otherwise it becomes too fast to be detectable. Give yourself specific periods of no thought activity to break the chain of fearful thoughts. Set small periods in every 24 hours outside of your sleep pattern that no thought is allowed regardless of how good or bad it may be. Use guided meditation music if not ready to hear the silence yet (Holosync or similar).  (Note: There are several other focus training exercises that will be expanded on in the future postings.)

Enjoy staying at NOW where your true maximum power and PEACE is and remind yourself of the old man’s last words before dying who said; “I have had many troubles in my life but most of them never happened.”
