We usually refer to those who have strong determination, are Willing to do whatever it takes, are brave enough and Daring to go to any extend to accomplish what they desire as being enthusiastic. Enthusiasm comes from the Greek word “en” means “in” and the root word “theos” means God. In a way; “enthusiasm” means God Within.
It appears that once we realize the power and connection to that source that makes our heart beat, we connect to this universal power that makes all the hearts beat and makes all things possible. This is accomplished when we cease to look for any reason for our separation along with not taking personal credit for this power. This may be paralleled to a drop of ocean that when separated from its source it no longer has any power, but once recognizes its connection as being a part of the ocean, it will have all the power and will move mountains.
Without being willing and daring, we will never experience anything new to transition and expand to, since the fear of the unknown will hold us back. We may be safe but never recognize our full capabilities. Rumi said; ”What strange beings we are! That sitting in hell at the bottom of dark, we are afraid of our own immortality”.
The certainty is that, we know we ride on the shoulder of a giant and all we need to do is to learn to whisper in his ears so we can accomplish all that we desire. However, like a little child who is always looking for another toy, we are afraid of the power of being able to have all the toys. If we have all the toys, then where would be the challenge? The only thing left would be the absolute enjoyment of joy, love, peace and compassion that is present in nature, animals and humans that we call “Bliss”. It scares us to be at “Bliss’ because of the wrong conditioning of all those before us telling us that there must be hardship, war, sorrow and pain so we prepare ourselves to experience those and they present themselves in all our experiences. We must be Willing and Daring to stop all wrong conditionings.
Sometimes we are willing and daring to find a transition because of running away from something and sometimes our desires make us to be willing and daring. The first one is exhaustive and tiresome without enjoyment since we expand to transition, looking for a relief. Contradictory, the second one is driven by our desires and its expansion is joyful and elated. Regardless of how we choose to expand our experiences, we must be satisfied to enjoy the present and to be eager to experience more in the future.
Indeed the final quest of all our efforts to be Willing and Daring is when we finally achieve what John Lennon sang about:
“Imagine there’s no heaven, It’s easy if you try, No hell below us, Above us only sky,
Imagine all the people living for today,
Imagine there’s no countries, It isn’t hard to do, Nothing to kill or die for, And no religion too Imagine all the people living life in peace,
You may say I’m a dreamer, But I’m not the only one, I hope some day you’ll join us, And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions, I wonder if you can, No need for greed or hunger, A brotherhood of man,
Imagine all the people sharing all the world,
You may say I’m a dreamer, But I’m not the only one, I hope some day you’ll join us, And the world will be as one”
