When acceptance is occurring naturally, there is no recognition of it, there is no resistance and it seems that we have accepted it by default as energetically we move peacefully forward. However, when something undesired is experienced, we keep looking to convince ourselves to accept that and no longer acceptance by default is experienced as it leads to many struggles and disappointments causing sadness and sorrow. We find “Acceptance” under those conditions to be interpreted and construed as giving up, forfeiting the desire, allowing whatever wrong is happening to continue negatively, being defeated, feeling apathy and more.
“Acceptance” is simply the energetic response of the universe, clarifying that the time to materialize our desire has not arrived yet. Like a merry go around, you must run at a speed harmonized with the speed of the merry go around before you can get on, otherwise it will bump you off. You may try once or twice and slow down or stop and then try again until you can get on and enjoy the ride. “Acceptance” is that slowing down or stopping delay that synchronizes the vibrations to assure success and it is contradictorily to its misconception of being defeated.
It simply states that I am joyful as I am now and accept that I will need to continue working on my desire and be happy at this moment and under these conditions and during this time until I reach my goals that I have intended to accomplish. Acceptance is the key to recovery.
“When we accept ourselves exactly as we are, in exactly this moment, we shift from living for tomorrow to appreciating today”.
Viktor Frankl in his book “Man’s Search for Meaning” shares his experience of being a prisoner in Nazi Germany’s concentration camp during WW-II. It was his “acceptance” of the merciless condition that allowed him to retain his energy to keep his desire alive. He knew that he had to survive to share his story, so he could succeed being a part of the force to stop that horror from being ever experienced again.
“Acceptance” allows “Willingness” to flourish. Prerequisite to any form of acceptance is willingness. In vibrational hierarchy to Joy and Peace “Reason” allows “Acceptance” to take place. One may say that the three musketeers leading us to Love may be considered to be “Willingness”, “Acceptance” and “Reason”.
Eckhart Tolle said: “ Accept-then act. Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it, always work with it, not against it…., this will miraculously transform your whole life”.
The power of acceptance is the energy that allows transformation to occur. Change comes when we act beyond our norm, our comfort level and our environment. Acceptance allows the wasted energy toward regret, hate and sorrow to be retained and redirected to be used for transformation.
“Acceptance does not mean resignation. It means understanding that something is what it is and there’s got to be a way through it” – (Michael J Fox).
