The Four Candles!

September 16, 2017

Have you ever wondered, “why you fall short of reaching your goals”. It seems that all the desire, energy, excitement and willingness is there to make it happen at the beginning but yet by the time we get to the terminus we realize that we are far from the goal that we had originally planned for.

It seems like looking down this road, bright as a sunny day with our goal at the end of it calling us to get there to embrace it. Somehow as we start travelling down this path, many things happen that derail us from the destination.

It appears that at times the light goes out and we find ourselves lost in this darkness not knowing how to find our goal. Amazingly, sometimes a light appears from nowhere and gives us the visibility that we need to see our goal again so we can find it heading its direction.

I call these moments the candles that light our way when we seem to be lost and derailed. These quotations from the past masters redirect us by lighting our path like a candle that all the darkness in the world can not stop its radiance.

Candle-1 (Starting your day with): “Early in the morning as he was on his way back from the city, he saw a fig tree by the road, he want up to it but found nothing on it except leaves, then he said to it, may you never bear fruit again. Immediately the tree withered.   When the disciples saw this they were amazed. How did the fig tree whither so quickly they asked. Jesus replied, I tell you the truth. If you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but you can also tell this mountain to go throw itself into the sea and it will be done, if you believe you will receive whatever you ask for in prayers.”

During the day different occasions may arise that they may require reminding yourself of Thoreau’s quote regarding success. This may be needed to bring clarity to the goals and to redirect the focus toward what is desired.

Candle-2: “If you advance confidently in the direction of your own dreams and endeavor to live the life that you have imagined you shall meet with success unexpected in common hours”.

Sometimes the occasion arises that requires acting independent of opinion of others. The change comes when we act beyond the environment and what has been considered to be comfortable and the norm. Thinking out of the box requires understanding and patience of being inside the box first. This Emmerson’s quote will guide you to act independent of opinion of others to be aligned with what universally and energetically is considered to be right.

Candle-3: Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”

Finally, you will need to recognize that you are love, you are loving and you are beyond that and any type of fear will lessen that absolute truth about who you truly are since you were born to be fearless. When all the thoughts, news, propaganda and unspoken fear of the surrounding environment becomes apparent, it is time to remind yourself of the old man who told his children the following at his deathbed:

Candle-4: “I have had many troubles in my life but most of them never happened.”
