What is Microcurrent Facial?

This is a painless alternative to those who do not want to use surgical methods, this is a technique that is often called a “lunchtime facelift” because of its non-invasive approach. Microcurrents are used to stimulate the facial muscles so that they react by helping to tighten the face in a comfortable manner. The points where the microcurrents are applied are similar to where acupuncture treatments are used, except there are no needles with microcurrents.

The stimulation of the muscles allows for the removal of creases, wrinkles, and fine lines. In addition, the skin itself is firmer, lifted, and tightened so that areas such as double chins, sagging jowls and cheeks are no longer present.

Benefits

There are several advantages to using this form of facial starting with its low cost. This puts it in a price range that many can afford, although Hollywood stars along with the rich and famous are some of the biggest fans of this type of treatment.

  • Quick & Painless
  • Effective
  • More Youthful Appearance
  • Tighter Skin

The only downside is how long the effect lasts on the face and neck. You will need to have more frequent microcurrent facials compared to traditional ones over the same period. It is recommended that you have three to four treatments initially, then one every four to twelve weeks depending on how long the effects last.

Side Effects

There are some temporary side effects that are associated with microcurrent facial sculpting. The effects generally start about an hour and a half after the treatment has been completed and may last up to a full day depending on their severity. The major side effects from the treatment include, but are not necessarily limited to the following;

  • Drowsiness
  • Fatigue
  • Nausea

The good news is that the side effects only last a short time and they go away fully after 24 hours. You can help prevent some of the side effects by drinking water up to two hours after the completion of the treatment. It is recommended that you drink up to two quarts or the amount that you feel comfortable in consuming. The addition of water helps counteract the side effects and minimize them. Plus, there have been no reports of long-lasting reactions that were adverse which makes microcurrent facials one of the safest treatments of its type.

If you are looking for a well-received alternative to traditional facials that tighten the skin and provide a more youthful appearance, the microcurrent facial sculpting method may be perfect for you.
