Celluma Light Therapy to Minimize Wrinkles

February 7, 2017

Thanks to modern technology, people can now use the power of artificial light to minimize wrinkles. One example of a LED light therapy is Celluma Wrinkle Treatment an FDA approved light therapy.

How Does It Work

The way light therapies work can be compared to the way plants utilize chlorophyll in order to turn sunlight into plant tissue. The light emitting diodes (LED) emit high-intensity rays that use special, tested wavelengths of light that are able to activate a natural stimulatory effect in the tissue. Many studies have confirmed that phototherapy can boost blood circulation, speed up tissue repair, eliminate acne bacteria, lower inflammation, enhance skin tone, clarity, and texture and even ease the pain in the muscles and joints.

Studies

Studies have shown that cells soak up light particles, also known as photons, and turn their energy into ATP (adenosine triphosphate, a type of energy that cells use. As a result of the increased level of ATP in the system, the metabolic processes are much faster and more efficient and synthesize RNA, DNA, enzymes, proteins and other things required to regenerate or repair cell parts, promote cell proliferation and bring back homeostasis. To put it in simple words, the LED light brings better cells with more energy in them so they can do their job in a better way. For instance, fibroblast cells are able to boost the production of elastin and collagen in the tissue.

FDA Approval

Light therapy for wrinkles is approved by FDA, at least when it comes to Celluma. This therapy has FDA approvals for multiple uses including joint and muscle pain, stiffness, arthritis, as well as treatment of acne. Celluma light therapy utilizes red, blue and near-infrared light at the same time. The red LED light has proven to be especially effective when it comes to wrinkles. There are three ways in which this LED light affects wrinkles and makes them disappear. First and foremost, the LED light is here to promote the production of elastin and collagen. As we said before, these natural compounds affect the elasticity and smoothness of skin. Next, after a few treatments, practitioners will notice that both their fine lines and wrinkles are reduced. In the end, it’s worth mentioning that LED light therapy enhances skin’s resilience and firmness preventing the occurrence of wrinkles in the future.

Session Frequency

In order to experience the best results we recommend 2-3 sessions per week for the first 2-3 weeks. After that, you can commit to 1-2 sessions per week. It is difficult to tell how long the results last because it depends on the length of treatment and your initial condition. Maintance sessions are often 1 or 2 per month.

There is no such thing as doing these treatments too frequently. You can take them twice a day if you want.
The only side effect of light therapy for wrinkles is possible eye strain. However, modern products like Celluma come with protection.
The process of aging and formation of wrinkles is inevitable. However, with LED light therapy you will be able to prolong this process and minimize its effects in a convenient way.
